The Word – Benefits.
Psalm 103:2 – Praise the Lord O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.
One of the things I started this new year is to keep a testimony journal. I have about 5 major things that God has already done for me and I’ve written them down, but on a particular day, I thought to myself – Why does it have to be only something major I put in the journal? What about the minor beautiful things that God does for me every day! They shouldn’t even be classified as minor.
So, when God gave me that understanding; I simply wrote “I just felt like saying thank you again. For making the project a success, for life, protection, provision, vision, instruction, correction, friends and family. THANK YOU!”
If you ask me, I’d tell you that those benefits I listed above are by no means minor.
Do you think it’s everyone who shouted “Happy new year!” that is opportune to see this 19th day of the New Year?
Let’s not only thank God when we feel He’s done something “big” for us, because the truth is that if not for the little ones He blesses us with daily; the big ones would not come.
Someone somewhere would love to have the privilege to breathe in air on their own like you.
Those legs you think are hairy; someone is wishing they had it to walk.
Those eyes you feel are too small or big, someone would love to use it to just know for a moment what the colour white looks like.
Or you think you’re too short?
Then thank God for it, because in His eyes you’re as perfect as anyone else.
He spoke when He made all other things, but you my darling were created; in the image and likeness of God.
That’s some huge benefit!
I read somewhere that every day is a second chance. Thank God for it.
Bless Him for life, family, friends, academics, provision, protection (or you think devil doesn’t know you?), guidance and every other thing that comes to your mind right now.
Do not be ungrateful and as Psalm 103:2 says: BLESS THE LORD O YOUR SOUL, AND FORGET NOT ALL HIS BENEFITS. Please read the whole chapter, you’d find other benefits that you have in God that you should be thankful for.
Verses 3-5: “Who forgives all your sins, and heals your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, Who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Verses 8-10: The Lord is compassionate and gracious; slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.”
What do you think would have been our lot if we had a God who paid us back according to our iniquities?
Let’s thank God for that benefit, and all the other ones He keeps blessing us with.
Remember to stay thankful throughout this week to our sweet daddy. Make God smile.
Please, also do remember to subscribe to the blog so you can receive all new posts right in your mail! That’s also one huge benefit! 🙂
