FIRST “I THANK GOD FRIDAY.”
ITG Fridays will basically be about testimonies. It will be very similar to “I testify!” on the former blog which I was not diligent enough to continue. I pray for Grace to continue from now though.
There’s a saying that when we pray God sends Angels with our package but that when we praise, God Himself descends and fills the place or situation! Having an attitude of gratitude cannot be overemphasized. It is a crucial part of spiritual maturity to be grateful for all things; for answered and unanswered prayers. I can sometimes be ungrateful, but I try to pinch and remind myself to stay grateful!
I believe ITG Fridays will help me grow in gratefulness.
Alright, enough introduction; let me get right to it.
God, I truly don’t know where to start.
Most times when I testify, I always start by thanking you for the salvation of my soul. It’s such a privilege to know you like this! And to think that I don’t even still know all of you, but for this relationship; I am truly grateful.
I see it now, how you kept pursuing me all that while. How you kept putting it my heart little by little that I truly needed to know this God more. It’s funny how it finally took a lady’s timeline on twitter which I might never come across again for me to kneel and ask you into my heart. I’m so grateful for that day and all the days after.
I’m grateful for all the love, mercy, forgiveness, instructions and corrections that you keep showing me. What other god can be so patient? I remember those times as a new believer and how I easily got angry at you and wouldn’t know how to speak to you. I’d never understand how you do this patience thing; because you were and still are so patient with me!
I’m grateful for all the second (and third, fourth, fifth…) chances I get from you every day. I’m thankful Lord! I truly am! I’m thankful even for all the times you wake me at exactly the time I begged you a day before to wake me. With you, nothing is irrelevant!
It’s not a wonder that I can shout, kneel, bow, roll, and cry in your presence; because you do so much for me. Sometimes my spirit isn’t satisfied with my praise to you and I’m learning that the language of the Holy Ghost is the answer. Still, my praise will never ever be enough. If I thank you with a thousand tongues from now even till the end of my days, it will never be enough.
I’m grateful for the hope that you give. The hope that assures me that though I don’t have it all, I have you and your promises! Baba, I am grateful. I have too much to be thankful for. For this gift of life, I say thank you. For the people you put in my path in this journey of life, I say thank you. For family and friends, Baba mo dupe. Even for sanity, I say thank you.
No words will ever explain it, no head will ever fully understand it but still, I say thank you.
Thank you for running after me even when I was running away. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you.
We can’t give God food and drinks, even the money we give was first given to us by Him. But we can be grateful. We can be unashamed in praising God and uplifting His name.
