Good Monday Morning!
Mahn, it feels somehow saying that now. Maybe it’s because I’m not very comfortable about not being able to post very early in the mornings like I used to. But still, it’s a wonderful morning(pls, don’t tell me it’s already past noon because Americans are also reading this. lol)
I’m seriously struggling with time management here, but please if you have any ideas that can help the blog out, do share! You know this blog is for us, don’t leave me now!
How do you manage your time? How do you set things in place before time?
Another thing that affects me is not knowing exactly what God wants me to share until that morning I’m to share it. Above all, I hope you don’t mind me posting at this time. But if you sincerely do prefer early mornings, please let me know and I will definitely work on it! Thank you!
ok. Time to dig into our word for this week. It’s purpose!
To help understand certain words better, I like to check the dictionary and the English Dictionary states that purpose is “an object to be reached; a target; an aim or a goal.” Of course, this is just the secular meaning.
Let’s however take it deeper. What are you reaching for? What’s your aim or goal for the next few years/months/days/minutes. Why do you exist? Why did God make you? Meditate on that for some minutes.
I narrowed the goal reaching time to months/days and even minutes above for a reason. You see, most of us like to set yearly goals. Some even have goals for the next 10yrs penned down, and that is great; but what about what you ought to be doing right at this minute? Do you realize that the seconds, minutes and days are what pile up to become years? And if we’re wasting these somewhat little times, then we fail to realize that they will affect the yearly goals.
I for one know that God has asked me to begin speaking in small groups in schools, but I have been tarrying. I could be using my minutes to check on schools and speak to proprietors; but if I fail to do so, then I will regret wasting this precious time in the next 10years!
But, even this still feels deep.
What about daily goals? Do you lay on your bed at night and regret how the day feels wasted?
When you wake, why not pen down the things you ought to achieve that day. Nothing, I repeat, absolutely nothing is too silly to write as daily goals. If I want to download a workout video that I have heard about, I pen it down. Why? Because I am human and I forget.
And do you know that the funny thing is that if I forget to download that video, I will feel bad about it at the end of the day. That automatically makes that video significant. If you have tendency to forget stuff(which we all do), why not begin by writing daily goals.
I am spending time talking(more like writing) about small stuff like daily goals because they have impact on our bigger purpose! Let’s use education as an example. I am a student and my purpose in school is to acquire knowledge and come out with good grades(and much more actually). However, if everyday comes and I waste my seconds and minutes by not reading and taking time out to study; my bigger purpose schooling will be greatly affected. Then after 4years, one will begin to wonder where time went and how one could have made better grades; because the minutes over the years were not utilized!
What about spiritual life? What’s your bigger purpose? Let’s say yours(like mine) is to grow in the knowledge of Christ and be closer to Him everyday. Then, how is the smaller goal going? Are we waking earlier than everyone in order to fellowship with Him so He can give us daily goals? Do you even see the relationship here?
Let’s say God has made you to Pastor His flock someday; so daily, He directs you and tells you great&mighty things about your future. If this happens everyday, do you not realize that you’d become a Pastor and then see that your greater purpose came as a result of those ‘small’ goals God gave you over the years.
My heart is full and I’m amazed as I write, because God has been dealing with me on purpose for sometime now. I recommend the book The Power of Vision by Myles Munroe at this period.
What I’m saying in essence is that you(we) must hold on to our daily goals and work with them because they lead to the greater purpose for which we were created. Please, do not take your purpose in life with levity. Do not joke with it. Many destinies are attached to yours, shocking right?
But just imagine if Dr Myles Munroe decided while He was young that he was going to waste his days? How would he have impacted so many lives and put his wealth of knowledge in books? The man swore to die empty mahn!
What if my Pastor, Pastor Sam joked his life away overtime? God forbid it! How would I have sapped so much from him weekly?
Again I say that many destinies are connected with yours. Know your purpose and then run with it!
As I read Psalm 16(Message translation) today, these verses jumped at me.
7-8 The wise counsel God gives when I’m awake
is confirmed by my sleeping heart.
Day and night I’ll stick with God;
I’ve got a good thing going and I’m not letting go.
9-10 I’m happy from the inside out,
and from the outside in, I’m firmly formed.
You canceled my ticket to hell—
that’s not my destination!
11 Now you’ve got my feet on the life path,
all radiant from the shining of your face.
Ever since you took my hand,
I’m on the right way.
These above words resonated so much with my thoughts on purpose. Just let God take your hand, and you’re good to go!
May God grace us in every way as we find our purpose. Amen.
That’s it everyone! Thanks and thanks again for reading.
