The Word – Branding.

Hey hey hey!

What’s up everyone?
I hope you had a restful and beautiful weekend!

Well, mine was ok. Praise God!

I feel like I’ve not been sleeping enough though. Lol. I know I’m not on holidays anymore, and I do miss having enough rest and sleep.

Anyways, let’s delve into today’s message! Branding…

It will interest you to know that companies pay HUGE sums of money in order to build their brand names. In fact, I went for a digital marketing training during the holidays and my ears almost popped out from the prices I heard.

All the adverts, sponsorships and billboards a company does, lead to one thing – to build an amazing brand name.

This is because, if people do not relate with your brand in a certain emotional level, they will not buy your product! If you advertise from today till tomorrow but people feel like you’re only in to cheat or harm them, your products will remain on the shelve.

I’m not a marketing student, I just have little knowledge of this because of the people I’ve connected with and all the ‘awuff’ (free) trainings I’ve attended.

Here’s my point- If companies and people pay such huge amounts to look good in order to make sales, why aren’t Christians adopting that style?

Now, the difference here is that our product isn’t and wasn’t made to harm or deceive anyone. Our product is the TRUTH Himself!

However, Christians (you and I) have become so lackadaisical that we sometimes forget that we have a brand name to protect!
If companies and individuals pay so much to brand themselves, why can’t be pay so much too!
Why can’t we pay with these simple products-
Our words.
Our thoughts.
Our actions.
Our gestures.
Our attitudes.
Our imaginations.
Our tweets.
Our comments.
Our likes.
Our pictures.

1 Peter 2:9 (ESV)
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light!

That we may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called us!!!

How can you be born again for all these years, and not even a person at your office knows : because you join them in their dirty deals and never talk about Jesus.

How can you be born again for all these years, and no one in your family knows : because there’s nothing different about how you treat your parents and siblings.

How can you be born again for all these years, and no one at school knows : because you join them to dance dirty in the club on Saturdays and attend Church on Sundays.

How can you be born again for all these years, and your followers don’t know it : because all you tweet about it Kim Kardarshian and her latest shoe or video.

What type of brand are you building for yourself and Christ?

Are you paying the price?

I think we all really need to think about this.
Am I branding myself well?

Do you know that even the people you follow show the kind of person you are!

I don’t just follow anybody o!

I take out time to checkout their profiles and timeline. Any thing against my Brand’s (Jesus) ethics and I’m out!

In fact, I’m much nicer now. Before, once I don’t know you personally, I don’t even follow. Whether or not you’re following me, but people said I needed to be a little more flexible.

In fact, I rebuilt my brand ni o!

I deleted both my former Facebook and Twitter accounts after I got born again. It meant I had to lose my former followers and change the people I followed, and I don’t regret it!

I have family friends I message on bbm, but can never follow on Twitter! Ko poss! (Not possible!) Because they do not post anything that uplifts, only stuff that messup my mind for weeks.

Lol. I sound like a mama. I’m just being truthful!

We’re representing Christ in all we do. (At least, that’s what we’re supposed to be doing guys!)

If you have to delete things to rebuild your brand, you had better start deleting!

That Billboard you see every time you pass Third Mainland Bridge (a bridge that connects Lagos Mainland to the Island in Nigeria); do you know they pay per day? And if you hear the price for one day ehn!
You just go and research.

The day my AYECIAfrica boss asked me to call a radio station to find out their advert pricing; I almost asked the representative to shut up and realize that we’re a Non-Government Organization. Lol. Like they care! The price per minute (or was it 9 seconds) was unbelievable!
People are paying more than some peoples school fees to advertise nonsense, what will you pay to advertise Jesus?

Let’s think deeply about this!

Peace! šŸ’š
