Clean your toilet, Jesus is coming.

Hey hey hey!

Something incredible happened last week. A lesson hit me so hard that I had to share.

My sister-friend-housemate was returning home from Nigeria. She had gone for a family event and though I was tired after class, I had to get the toilet ready on the day of her arrival.

We have this issue with our bathroom (washroom as it is called in Ghana), when it rains, water finds it’s way from the window and slides down our bathroom wall, dirty water of course.
It had been like that for few days because I was running in and out of the house and making excuses, but I couldn’t ignore it on the day my roomie was coming back.

I put myself in her shoes. I would be upset if I traveled and came back to meet a dirty toilet, to be honest. Especially if I had been holding some personal business throughout my long road trip…
It would be nice to meet a sparkling toilet to use.

So, as I scrubbed the floor that evening, God said- THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANT YOU TO DO FOR ME.

The message Bible breaks it down!

I don’t think, friends, that I need to deal with the question of when all this is going to happen. You know as well as I that the day of the Master’s coming can’t be posted on our calendars. He won’t call ahead and make an appointment any more than a burglar would. About the time everybody’s walking around complacently, congratulating each other—“We’ve sure got it made! Now we can take it easy!”—suddenly everything will fall apart. It’s going to come as suddenly and inescapably as birth pangs to a pregnant woman. But friends, you’re not in the dark, so how could you be taken off guard by any of this? You’re sons of Light, daughters of Day. We live under wide open skies and know where we stand. So let’s not sleepwalk through life like those others. Let’s keep our eyes open and be smart. People sleep at night and get drunk at night. But not us! Since we’re creatures of Day, let’s act like it. Walk out into the daylight sober, dressed up in faith, love, and the hope of salvation. God didn’t set us up for an angry rejection but for salvation by our Master, Jesus Christ. He died for us, a death that triggered life. Whether we’re awake with the living or asleep with the dead, we’re alive with him! So speak encouraging words to one another. Build up hope so you’ll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind. I know you’re already doing this; just keep on doing it.
1 Thessalonians 5:1-11 MSG

“I want you to be ready. Imagine me as your roommate who has gone for a family event. You don’t know the exact time she will arrive, but you know she will be back. Scrub your toilet and get ready for my Son, Jesus Christ,” God said to me.

I then started thinking of all the times I have been asked, ‘If Jesus comes today, will you be ready?’
Will I?

Because there are times when I find it hard to forgive those who hurt me.
There are times when I speak a bad word about someone when I should shut up.
There are times when I believe the world should revolve around me, my emotions and feelings.
There are times when jealousy fights to destroy my soul.
There are times when laziness steals what God has placed me here to do.
There are times….(fill in the space).

What are you doing with your life?

Are you ready?

Jesus is not myth. He is coming back.

Will you be ready?

If He doesn’t come before you leave earth, you will still have to give account of your life and what you did with Jesus.

Take time to think about my question today. I will too.

Will you be ready?
Are you ready?

I sincerely apologize for my inconsistency lately. I’m still here, trust me!
I read a book where the author asked- If you could do something everyday without anyone’s permission, what will it be?

I answered- I will write and write and write; whether or not people read.
I will speak life to everyone that meets me and tell them about Jesus.
I will cause serious social change in Nigeria and be radical about it.

What will you do if you didn’t need anyone’s permission?

If Myles Munroe could pay me for publicity, he would have by now. I BEG you, if you have never listened to ‘DIE EMPTY’ by him, run and get that message today. I have listened to it almost everyday since last week.
I got to a part today and shouted in tongues as I walked to school. Haha. I was using earphones and laughed at myself. I receive new revelation from that message every time I listen to it.
Thank me later.

Ok! It’s time for class.

Talk later.

Love always,
Mobolaji.
